Derwentwater Ten

"The UK's most scenic 10 mile road race"
|
I was prepared for the worst, given the weather forecast, but it turned out to be a great day. The Saturday and Monday were truly awful, so we were lucky! We were a little down on numbers (403). Again, the weather forecast can be held accountable for that. Plenty of puddles around the course cooled you all down, but didn't cool John Battrick down, who recorded a blistering time. I was surprised to find out it was John's first go at Derwentwater and given he's lived in Keswick for years was a surprise. Millie returned from Leeds to win again, in a slightly slower time than her previous win in 2021. Lots of smiles and praise was again received at the finish which always makes organising races worthwhile. See you next year! |
